The Construction Owners Association of Alberta (COAA) retained AWES for a needs assessment of the construction industry in Alberta to identify the skills required for success in construction occupations. The assessment revealed that reading, record keeping, report writing, numeracy, continuous learning, and adapting to a changing work environment were vital skills that workers need in the construction industry. AWES established an ongoing sector partnership for future research, training initiatives and development opportunities.
