Today, we are proud to launch a new logo and the adoption of “AWES” as our official name to signal the beginning of a new chapter to become more identifiable to employers and workers who benefit from our services, and to better align with our mission of leading innovative workplace skills training initiatives across Canada.
Embracing the future
Over the last few years, AWES has adapted to vast shifts in the workforce, transitioned to the new Skills for Success model, and expanded its services beyond Alberta to support employers and workers across Canada. With each change, it became more apparent the name “Alberta Workforce Essential Skills Society” no longer accurately represented our present or our future. Wanting to honour our Alberta roots, the transition to “AWES” maintains our organizational history while allowing us to continue expanding nationally and even internationally. To further showcase our dedication to delivering high-quality, future-focused training solutions, we added the tagline “innovating workplace skills training”.
A bold new era
Our refreshed look includes a brand-new logo that symbolizes the continuous, lifelong cycle of skills development and reflects our unique training formula, which breaks down the silos that skills development typically occurs in. The elements of our formula — Skills for Success, language, and workplace culture — are represented by each triangle and come together as one integrated process. The bolder, brighter colours, illustrate AWES becoming a more influential and recognizable brand and the go-to partner for innovative workplace skills training solutions.
Moving forward with a new look and new name, AWES will still continue delivering the innovative and high-quality skills development opportunities our partners and supporters have come to expect.
