The Alberta Construction Association (ACA) contracted AWES to conduct a sectoral needs assessment and analyze ongoing challenges that employers in Alberta’s construction industry experienced with attracting, retaining, and developing workers. AWES supported the development of a new recruitment and retention approach focused on skills development and long-term career growth, and provided industry-specific recommendations for workplace essential skills training.
