AWES conducted an environmental scan of workplace language, literacy, and essential skills programs in Alberta to determine the scope of available services and better support workers who rely on these programs to develop essential skills for the workplace. A total of 32 service providers, 21 associations, and 30 employers were surveyed. To address the needs of workers, AWES developed several quality resources for programmers including safety posters, training manuals, cultural tips sheets, and workplace integration tools for newcomers.
