AWES delivered essential skills workshops to practitioners, instructors, and tutors in rural Alberta communities to teach them how to use essential skills in lessons to minimize the distance between classroom learning and the realities of the workplace so learners are better prepared for career opportunities. AWES also worked with an Alberta-based college[LW1] to integrate essential skills into their literacy program and designed a process model for integrating Workplace Essential Skills into curricula, which colleges, learning centers, and employment programs across Canada have used since to assist in curriculum development.
