The WorkUp! project aimed to increase capacity for Workplace Essential Skills (WES) programming in Alberta by training instructors to become WES specialists. Six language and literacy instructors received training and facilitated their own robust workplace essential skills training programs in businesses from their local communities to improve workplace essential skills, increase productivity, and demonstrate the positive effects of WES training to employers. Several resources were developed for continued support, such as a best-practices guide and a collection of promotional materials that provide WES practitioners with guidance for building employer relationships, marketing benefits, and advocating for workplace essential skills training.
