About the project
The Guided Pathways project, led by AWES, transformed career development practices across Canada by teaching Career Development Practitioners (CDPs) how to integrate Skills for Success (SFS) into employment counseling. Running from 2019 to 2024, the project was done in collaboration with Social Research and Demonstration Corporation (SRDC) and RAD Science Solutions, ensuring a strong foundation in research and assessment.
For Career Development Practitioners (CDPs), having a solid understanding of Skills for Success framework is essential to effectively assess client skill levels, identify gaps, and provide better career matching as well as targeted guidance on training and career pathways. By incorporating SFS into their practice, CDPs were able to better support job seekers in developing the critical skills needed for long-term employment success.
Through an interactive online training program, participants engaged in hands-on activities, real-world case studies, and live discussions, reinforcing their ability to integrate Skills for Success into client support. The training also included an online, three-month Community of Practice, allowing CDPs to connect, share insights, and deepen their understanding of SFS implementation.
